How to follow up customer enquiries on WhatsApp
Most sales are won or lost in the follow-up. A customer asks a question, you reply, and then nothing happens. These simple habits help you turn more WhatsApp enquiries into paying customers.
1. Reply quickly
Customers often message several businesses at once. The one who replies first usually has the best chance. Aim to reply the same day, and sooner if you can.
2. Keep the first message short and useful
- Greet the customer by name.
- Answer their question directly, including the price if they asked.
- End with one clear next step, such as "Would you like me to reserve one for you?"
3. Follow up if they go quiet
Silence does not always mean no. People get busy. A polite message two or three days later often restarts the conversation.
- "Hello Ngozi, just checking if you still need the order we discussed."
- "Hi Tunde, the offer ends on Friday. Should I hold one for you?"
4. Write down who needs what, and when
Do not trust your memory or your chat list. For every enquiry, note the customer's name, number, what they want and the date you promised to call back. Then check that list every morning.
5. Be respectful
Only message people who enquired with you. Do not send the same message again and again. If someone says no, thank them and stop.
How Findbaya helps
Findbaya keeps every enquiry in one inbox. Each lead has a stage, an optional deal value and a follow-up date, and one tap opens a WhatsApp chat with a ready-written message. That way nobody who said "call me next week" slips away. Findbaya does not send messages for you, so every follow-up still comes from you.
Try it for your business
Findbaya gives you a lead page, one inbox for every enquiry and one-tap WhatsApp replies. Set up takes about two minutes.
